Authority approves waterline expansion
FOREST CITY — The Broad River Water Authority unanimously approved a resolution to move forward with a waterline extension on Oscar Justice Road near the Rutherford County Airport.
The board voted to go ahead with the engineering design by Odom Engineering. The project will likely be bid in February, said Maria Hunnicutt, executive director of the BRWA.
Construction could be completed by June 2013, if everything goes according to plans.
The project could serve a potential 28 customers at a total cost of $260,000 or $9,300 per customer.
The project for waterlines was approved in March 2011 for 50/50 funding, as the other funds will come from the Capital Improvement Plan in the 2012-2013 fiscal year budget.
