Son stabs father in Spindale domestic dispute

Curtis Eugene Lowe Sr., 47, of Spindale, remains in the Intensive Care Unit at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after he was stabbed by his son, Curtis "CJ" Euguene Lowe Jr., 22, Wednesday evening.

According to a report filed by Spindale Police, shortly after 8:30 p.m. the father and son got into a domestic dispute and Lowe Jr. used a knife to stab his father multiple times in the abdomen.

Lowe Jr. told officers that he reacted in self defense after his father assaulted him first.

The assault occurred at 273 Poplar Street in Spindale, a residence belonging to Henry Justice.

Lowe Sr. was airlifted by Regional One to the hospital Wednesday night.

Lowe Jr. remains in custody at the Rutherford County Detention Facility on a $105,000 secured bond.

Spindale Police charged Lowe Jr. with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office served an outstanding warrant on Lowe Jr. for assault and battery, after he was taken into custody by Spindale officers.
