Harley Bradley, 19, who was critically injured in a motor vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon on Hudlow Road near the Mt. Vernon community, remains in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Bradley, who lives on J.A. Hampton Road, is in the pediatric intensive care unit, a hospital spokesperson said Wednesday. She was airlifted to Spartanburg from the Mt. Vernon/Ruth Elementary School playground.

According to North Carolina Highway Patrolman W.S. Morrow, Bradley was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee south on Hudlow Road when she ran off the road to the right. The vehicle hit ditches, mailboxes and trees before it overturned. She traveled 265 feet before coming to a halt.

Morrow said speed was a factor in the crash.

Assisting at the scene were Hudlow firefighters, Rutherford County EMS and Rutherford County Sheriff's Dept.
