Man charged robbery with dangerous weapon

An 18-year-old man is in the Rutherford County Detention Facility under a $100,000 bond after being charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Brett Damian Hames of State Line Road in Mooresboro is charged with breaking, entering felony and attempted robbery with dangerous weapon.

According to Sherif Chris Francis, detectives were dispatched to Marvin’s Trail at about 10:22 a.m. Tuesday regarding break-in. 

The victim told officers he heard someone break into a back door and the victim armed himself and saw the suspect.

The victim recognized Hames as a person living in the neighborhood. According to the incident report, Hames was carrying a long gun.

According to Francis once Hames saw the victim in the house, he ran outside. There was evidence outside in the yard of an attempted break-in and warrants were secured. 

Warants was arrested at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
