Folk’s Cleaners is collecting good used coats for distribution to children in Rutherford County.

Owner Aubrey Folk is asking the public to bring only children’s coats that are in good shape.

The coats will be cleaned by Folk’s Cleaners before distribution.

Coats 4 Kids was begun several years ago but this is the first time in about two years it has been held.

Bring coats to the business locations at 227 Oak Street in Forest City or 117 Railroad Avenue in Rutherfordton.

Call Folk’s Cleaners at 245-4974 for more information.

Tis the season for the local pantry to be re-stocked — it is running low on supplies and this is the time of year when they need the most help.

In response, Carolina Chiropractic Plus is sponsoring a county-wide food drive and is serving as a drop-off location for items that will be donated to the Storehouse Pantry.

Bring any non-perishable food items to the Carolina Chiropractic Plus office at 152 West Main Street in Forest City.

Drop-off hours are Monday-Thursday 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Friday 7 a.m.-noon.

Call Carolina Chiropractic Plus at 828-245-2002 for more information.
