Sidewalk, Florence Mill projects on Forest City Council agenda
When the Forest City Town Council meets at 6 p.m. Monday they discuss a $10,000 award from Future Forward for Florence Mill Marketing.
Danielle Withrow, town planner, will present the information and will also discuss the Florence Mill 1941 Building Economic Development Agreement.
Council will also consider increasing the amount for the Oak Street Sidewalk Extension Project to $33,000.
The board will receive an update on the town's electric rate and will also discuss a contribution to the American Legion Baseball Team.
Council will consider appointing a delegate and alternate delegate for the NC League of Municipalities Advocacy Goals Conference which will be held Jan. 24 in Raleigh.
Also Monday night, Finance Director Julie Scherer and City Clerk Emily Sain will take the oath of office.
Clerk Sandra Mayse is retiring at the end of January and Scherer was named Finance Director upon the resignation of Scott Webber.
Council will conduct a closed session to discuss litigation under attorney/client privilege.
The meeting will be held at Cool Springs Administrative Offices on West Main Street in Forest City.
