Foothills Partnership approves 2012-14 programs
Without having any budget figures regarding state funding for 2013-14, the Foothills Partnership for Children board of directors approved its programs and initiatives for next year during its regular business meeting on Tuesday.
Partnership staff hope to have a proposed state budget by March.
Programs approved are — Family Initaitves: Even Start, Rutherford County Schools; Circle of Parents, McDowell County; MothernLearn Transportation, Family Resources, Rutherford County; Safety Net, Family and Schools Together, McDowell County;
Child Initatives: Child Care Technical Assistance, Child Care WAGE$, Child Care Resource and Referral, MotherLearn and Child Care Subsidy.
Health Care Initatives are: Nurse Family Partnership, Child Care Health Consultant and Healthy Smiles.
Also, the Executive Director Barry Gold said the partnership has applied for three programs for possible funding by a one-time grant from the North Carolina Partnership for Children.
The partnerhsip has applied for grant funding to help reduce the subsidy waiting list in Polk and Rutherford counties; quality support bonuses in McDowell County for four-and- five-star day care facilities and also funding for MotherLearn.
