Board considering new proposed town limits map

When Lake Lure Town Council meets at 6 p.m. today at the Lake Lure Municipal Center, the board will review and consider adopting a new proposed town limits map.

Council will also talk about curbside recycling options.

The board will conduct a public hearing regarding amending an ordinance pertaining to the Design and Construction Standards of the Lake Lure Structure Regulation of the town.

Council will look at two consent items regarding suspending the peddling ordinance for the Lake Lure Classical Academy’s Spring Fling Festival on May 17. The other request has been submitted by the Rutherford County Tourism Development Authority asking council to suspend the alcohol ordinance for the Hickory Nut Gorge Chamber Recharge event on April 8 at the Welcome Center in Lake Lure.

Council will also receive staff reports and will conduct a closed session regarding attorney-client privileges.

Council will consider adopting a resolution concerning the handling or settlement of a claim, judicial action, mediation, arbitration or administrative procedure.

Aldermen meeting in Ellenboro tonight

ELLENBORO — Ellenboro Aldermen will meet at 7 p.m. today at Ellenboro Town Hall and are expected to discuss a water line on Short Road.

The board will discuss sending its Assistant Town Clerk, Alberta Madigan, to  Utility Billing and Collection Class.

The personnel policy will also be discussed.
