Ellenboro man stabs neighbor
Duncan Eric Patterson, 39, of New House Road, Lot 14 in Ellenboro, was arrested on Saturday and charged with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon after deputies with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office responded to a stabbing.
Deputies were dispatched to New House Road, Lot 8 on Saturday and upon arrival observed a male subject bleeding from his right forearm from what appeared to be a stab wound.
According to a report filed by deputies, the victim, Dustin Dewayne Adams, advised he was out in his driveway when Patterson came out of a nearby residence and stabbed him with a fixed blade knife.
Adams sustained minor wounds and was transported to Rutherford Regional Medical Center by Rutherford County EMS.
Patterson was taken into custody following the incident and received a $5,000 secured bond for his charge of misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.
Prior to his most recent incarceration, Patterson was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon in Cleveland County in 2008.
