In an emergency situation, especially involving cardiac arrest, every second counts.

Instructors with the Isothermal Community College EMS program are offering a special CPR class called “When Seconds Count” to help prepare people for those types of emergencies.

The class will be on Saturday, April 19, from 8 a.m. to noon. It will be held at the Rutherford Learning Center, which is housed in the old Rutherfordton Elementary School. Students will receive a CPR card with the training. The cost is $30.

“We have never offered this class at this low rate, but find everyone should know CPR,” said Jerry Hinson, Isothermal’s EMS coordinator. “This is a way to give back to citizens in the community.”

For more information or to sign up for the class, contact Hinson 828-395-1766 or Chris St. Clair at 828-395-4203. Space is limited so call now.
