Possible staff appointment
Jul. 13, 2014 @ 10:11 AM

Chimney Rock Village Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for its regular business session.

Council is expected to discuss and possibly make an appointment for Town Clerk and Zoning Administrator due to the death of former zoning administrator, clerk Bill Whitman.

At last month's meeting, Administration/Finance Officer Steve Duncan was appointed as the interim Clerk/Zoning Administrator on a recommendation of Mayor Barbara Meliski. At the time of the meeting, Whitman was critically ill.

In a matter of old business, council will discuss the Parking Lot Ordinance, "Tourist Only Designation." Meliski presented an updated proposed ordinance for naming of parking lots and the zoning designation "Tourist Parking Only" at last month's meeting.

Ron Walters of Pangaea, Internet Wireless Services, will present an updated report.

Also Tuesday night, council will receive zoning administrator, financial reports and legal updates if necessary.
