Bostic, Ruth set budget hearings

Commissioners in the Town of Bostic reviewed the 2014-15 fiscal year budget Monday night during the regular business meeting.

No increases are expected for property taxes, garbage rates or water rates. However, the budget does include an increase in the electric rate which could be 3 to 4.3 percent, based on the increase to the town.

A public hearing on the budget will be held at the June 2 meeting at 6 p.m. at town hall.

Also Monday night, the board approved the new contract with CPA Don Heath for the annual audit.

Public hearing June 6 in Ruth

RUTH — Ruth Town Council met Monday night and reviewed and discussed several items, including the budget.  The public hearing on the budget will be June 6 at 5:30 p.m. at town hall.

At that time council members will talk about any increases for the budget and will take comments from the public.

It is expected to be adopted at the June 6 meeting.

Council talked about software upgrades and also discussed lawn care and maintenance updates.

Council approved the annual audit contract with Lowdermilk Church  & Company.
