Twelve-year-old injured by gun shot
A 12-year-old female was airlifted by medical helicopter and transported to Shelby Regional Medical Center Friday afternoon, after sustaining a gun shot wound to the abdomen.
The incident occurred at a residence on East High Road in Bostic, and according to deputies with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, the gun shot was accidental.
An adult relative is reportedly responsible for inflicting the accidental wound.
As of press time, the young girl was transferred to Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte, where she is in critical but stable condition.
Deputies continue their investigation of the incident.
