On Saturday, April 18, the Chase 8-and-under baseball team won the one-day Chick-fil-A spring tournament, which was held at Catawba Meadows Park in Morganton. Chase lost to the Mountain Expos by a 3-2 final in the first game before defeating the Carolina Blue Claws by an 8-5 score. Due to having the least amount of runs posted against it, Chase made it to the championship game as the No. 1 seed, where it overcame a 10-3 second-inning deficit to win by a 17-11 final and take the championship.
