Eaton's Forest City plant presented a pair of donations to local youth organizations Wednesday morning.

Eaton Plant Manager Wes Thompson presented a donation of $15,000 to Youth Empowerment and $10,000 to South Mountain Christian Camp.

The Youth Empowerment donation will provide funding for the after-school program which serves youth ages 10 through 17. This additional funding will allow Youth Empowerment to add 15 prevention slots to catch kids before they enter the Juvenile Justice system for problem behaviors and put them back on the path to success.

The donation for the South Mountain Christian Camp will support scholarship funds and camp expenses and enable the camp to provide financial assistance for more than 60 campers during the summer. The summer camp programs are designed to develop and promote strong character qualities, cooperation and faith.

The youth organizations were chosen by Eaton Forest City's Community Involvement Team, which has been active in supporting the Rutherford County area through financial support and volunteer service.
