The action and entertainment was non-stop last weekend at the National Guard Armory in Spindale where the Southern Wrestling Association (S.W.A.) presented their 14th Annual Bud Rhymer Tag Team Memorial Cup.

The pro wrestling event featured 16 of the biggest tag teams in the Carolinas who competed in the Friday and Saturday, two day tournament.

Along with providing a fun time for the whole family, the S.W.A. also teamed up with Grace of God Rescue to collect canned food for the soup kitchen during the event.Those who attended were encouraged to bring canned goods that were donated to the Grace of God Rescue.

In a special halftime presentation Saturday, Fredia Rhymer was awarded a Plaque for the Hall of Fame induction of Ralph “Pops” Rhymer who passed away June 1st of last year.

On April 5 the S.W.A. will once again be returning to the Forest City National Guard Armory located at 890 Withrow Road in Spindale for another night of pro wrestling.

For this event the S.W.A. will be collecting toiletries for the Grace God Rescue Mission at the show. The doors open at 7 p.m. with belltime sounding at 8 p.m. for more information visit www.facebook.com/pages/SWA.
