The Women Roofers of Rutherford County are in the headlines again with a story in the lifestyles section of Living Light News, an international Christian publication.

The March/April edition tells the story of the beginning of the roofers and their continuing work to roof homes for low income residents and the Habitat for Humanity homes."Climbing the Ladder for Love . . .after a decade and 67 roofs, these women roofers are about more than patching holes" is the headline of the story that includes a color photo of charter members, Lori Herrick, Susie Kernodle and Nell Bovender.

The Women Roofers have gained national exposure recently, including the feature piece on CBS Evening News. People magazine featured the Women Roofers recently in their "Hometown Heroes" section.

On April 3, the roofers will be roofing a home on First Street in Forest City with NBC Nightly News filming the women.

"They want to film us roof, start to finish," said Bovender in an email to the women roofers. NBC plans to begin filming at 8:30 a.m. on April 3 and continue until the job is done.
