Thanksgiving meal Wednesday


RUTHERFORDTON  — St. Francis Episcopal Church is hosting its third annual Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Parish House, 408 North Main Street, Rutherfordton.

Everyone is invited to come for the home cooked meal.

RUTHERFORDDTON — New Beginnings Soup Kitchen will serve its weekly meal on Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Green River Baptist Association building, North Wasington Street in Rutherfordton; everyone is invited.


Grace of God feeding Thanksgiving Day


FOREST CITY— For its free Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, Nov. 8, the Grace of God Rescue mission needs turkeys and canned foods such as yams, green beans, corn, peas, etc. Monetary donations are also needed.

The Thanksgiving meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thera-sage at South Main Street in Rutherfordton, is also collecting canned goods and staples for Grace of God rescue mission.

FOREST CITY — "Reaching Outside the Walls Ministries" from the Word of Deliverance Church  is hosting a Thanksgiving Day Community Meal on Nov. 28. The Thanksgiving Day Community Feeding will be at Cool Springs gymnasium on West Main Street in Forest City from 9 to 11 a.m.

The meal feeds more than 250 Rutherford County individuals every Thanksgiving.

The ministry is asking for help with donations in collecting canned food, toiletries, blankets and clothes to give the families at the Thanksgiving day meal.

The group has a goal to collect 2,000 cans of food and 600 dry good food items such as pasta, cereal and rice.

Food donations, etc. can be dropped off at United Way of Rutherford County, 668 Withrow Road, Spindale; or at Thomas Jefferson Classical Grammar School.
