Edgerton arrested; charged with shooting into home

Cornelius Isaiah Edgerton, 43, has been arrested in connection with an incident involving shooting into an occupied dwelling. 

On Monday evening, officers from the Forest City Police Department investigated the incident on Ridgeway Court in Forest City. 

Although the house was occupied during the incident, no one was injured. 

Edgerton is charged with discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling, communicating threats, discharging a weapon within city limits, and going armed to the terror of the people.

Rutherford County Sheriff’s Dept. was dispatched to 177 calls  on Monday; Forest City police had 60 calls; Rutherfordton police was dispatched to 33 calls; Spindale had 24 calls; Lake Lure had six calls; Rutherford County EMS responded to 52 calls and Rescue had 57 calls.

  Fire Calls

Ellenboro firefighters responded to two motor vehicle accidents and an electrical fire; Sandy Mush fire department was dispatched to a grass fire; Shingle Hollow firefighters responded to a chimney fire.

 Arrests 

Joey Dennis Burgess, 53, Radford Road in Ellenboro, was charged with drug trafficking; $10,000 bond. 

Felipe Hernandez Calvillo, 30, Chole Way in Forest City, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; written promise to appear.

Joseph Max Dixon, 46, Georgia Street in Spindale, was charged with assault on a female; 48-hour hold.

Deirdre Duffy, 40, Twelve Oaks Drive in Forest City, was charged with having no operators license and giving fictitious information to an officer; $500 bond.

Anthony Quatez Gaffney, 22, Oakridge Drive in Forest City, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell/deliver marijuana, maintain a dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia; $20,000 bond.

Ronnie Dean Hawkins, 37, Scoggins Road in Rutherfordton, was charged with drug trafficking; $10,000 bond.

Haley Danielle Hunley, 19, Edgemont Drive in Kings Mountain, was charged with possession of a controlled substance in jail/prison and consumption of alcohol by a minor; $6,000 bond.

Brandon Scott Hutchins, 30, US 64 Highway in Forest City, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; $10,000 bond.

Jamison Darren Jones, 47, Forest Street in Forest City, was charged with interfering with a utility meter; unsecured bond.

Josh David McGinnis, 24, McCraw Road in Mooresboro, was charged with assault on a female; 48-hour hold.

Michael Dean Overcash, 58, Bailey Road in Mooresville, was charged with driving while impaired; unsecured bond.

Kristin Shawn Pearson, 32, Hines Road in Mooresboro, was charged with driving while license revoked, drug trafficking, and possession of marijuana; $12,500 bond.

Marcus Lee Phillips, 18, Chase High Road in Forest City, was charged with failure to appear on possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to appear on possession of marijuana, two counts failure to appear on speeding, failure to appear on license plate improperly attached, and resisting a public officer; $4,000 bond.

Travis Edward Rabb, 34, Jack McKinney Road in Forest City, was charged with manufacturing marijuana; $20,000 bond.

Tammy Dawn Rollins, 30, Utah Street in Forest City, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of simple possession of a controlled substance; $10,500 bond.

Leonard Brandon Rorie, 24, East Court Street in Rutherfordton, was charged with failure to appear on reckless driving to endanger; $500 bond.

John Wayne Sparks, 57, Scoggins Road in Rutherfordton, was charged with drug trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia; $10,000 bond.

Wayne Benjamin Whitaker, 54, Old Fort Road in Fairview, was charged with failure to comply/community service and failure to appear on driving while license revoked and driving without two headlamps; $1,000 bond.
