Couple injured in two car wreck
FOREST CITY — Two people sustained injuries in a two car collision at 5:34 p.m. Sunday on US 221 at the Thompson Road intersection.
Michael Conner Dailey, 16, was driving a 1990 Jeep and failed to stop at a stop sign as he entered US 221 and struck a 2008 Kia driven by Welford Ryan Leach,76, of Rutherfordton. Leach and his wife, Pauline Leach, 67, reported injuries and she was transported to the hospital by Rutherford County EMS.
Dailey was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol investigated.

Lecroy loses control of car
FOREST CITY - April Lecroy, 36, of Rutherfordton was driving a 1992 Honda on County Line Road at 10:45 p.m. Sunday when she traveled off the road to the right, went over a creek and struck an embankment. She was charged with lane control.
She was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center by Rutherford County EMS.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol investigated.

One injured in Forest City wreck
FOREST CITY — Cecilia Ziranda, 20, of Forest City was taken to Rutherford Regional Medical Center Friday evening after a two car collision at the intersection of  Oak and South Church streets.
Robert Thomas Watts, 19, of Price Cemetery Road in Ellenboro was driving a 2001 Chevrolet and told police he was making a left turn from Oak onto South Church and said he had a green light but not a turn signal light. He said as he entered the intersection and started to turn, he did not see the 1994 Mazda driven by Ziranda before it was too late. She told police she was traveling straight ahead through the intersection behind another vehicle and as the front vehicle passed through the intersection, the Chevrolet turned in front of her.
There were no charges.
Forest City police, Rutherford County EMS and Forest City firefighters assisted at the scene.

911 Calls
Rutherford County Sheriff's Dept. was dispatched to 256 calls during the weekend; Forest City police had 88 calls; Rutherfordton police was dispatched to 74 calls; Spindale had 65 calls; Lake Lure had 13 calls; Rutherford County EMS responded to 54 calls and Rescue had 39 calls.

Fire Calls
Ellenboro responded to a chimney fire at about 7 p.m. Saturday; Rutherfordton responded to a vehicle accident and grass fire; SDO had a vehicle accident call and Shingle Hollow responded to a chimney fire.

Arrests
Joseph Trent Bullman, 48, of US 74B in Ellenboro was charged with two counts of communicating threats; written promise to appear.
Barbara Ann Callahan, 43, Green Street in Rutherfordton was charged with driving while impaired, reckless driving, wanton disregard; simple possession controlled substance; possession drug paraphernalia; $3,000 bond.
Tina Vickers Francis, 39, Main Street in Henrietta was charged with failure to appear on obtaining property by false pretense and failure to appear on felony probation violation; also charged with two counts felony probation violation; two counts obtaining property by false pretense, $30,000 bond.
James Marion Gettys, 36, Rehobeth Church Road in Shelby was arrested as a habitual felon; $10,000 unsecured bond.
Christopher Lee Hamrick,24, South Church Street in Forest City was charged with misdemeanor larceny; written promise to appear.
Miketta Annette Hines, 34, Garland Street in Spindale was charged with misdemeanor larceny; $1,000 bond.
Cynthia Dianne Hodge, 28, Poplar Street in Boiling Springs was charged with felony possession controlled substance and simple possession controlled substance; $10,000 bond.
Jennifer April Jenkins, 26, Hardin Road in Forest City was charged with possession methamphetamine, possession drug paraphernalia, unauthorized use of motor vehicle; $15,500 bond.
Bart Matthew Lebrun, 42, Memorial Highway in Lake Lure was charged with assault on female; 48-hour hold.
Amber Nicole Montecuollo, 34, Cline Street in Lawndale, was charged with possession methamphetamine; $5,000 bond.
Katie Miranda Phipps, 31, Pine Oak Drive in Rutherfordton was charged with failure to appear on driving while license revoked, failure stop at stop sign/flashing red light, driving while license revoked, unsafe movement and possession drug paraphernalia; $10,000 bond.
Sarah Jayne Trautman, 29, Baber Raod in Rutherfordton, was charged with two counts assault and battery; $2,500 bond.
Timothy Glenn West, 54, Oakland Road in Spindale was charged with driving while impaired, driving while license revoked, failure to appear on driving while impaired and resisting public officer; $18,000 bond.
Sherri Lynn Allen, 43, Switzer Drive in Forest City, was charged with failure to appear on larceny; $500 bond.
Shannon O'Dell Bradley, Windy Hill Drive in Foreest City, was charged with obtaining property by false pretense, breaking, entering felony; larceny after breaking and entering, possession stolen goods/property; $30,000 unsecured bond.
James Clayton Frashier, 25, Jack McKinney Road in Forest City, charged with failure to appear on no operator's lciense and failure to appear on driving allow registration plate not displayed; $500 bond.
Ralph Lee Hutchins, 56, North Street in Rutherfordton, charged with possession consume beer/wine on unauthorized premises; $500 bond.
Kellen Derico Jackson, 26, Saint John Zion Road in Forest City, charged with possession with intent to fell manufacture, deliver controlled subustance; possession drug paraphernalia; $50,000 bond.
