Hamrick hit in parking lot
FOREST CITY — Sarah Elizabeth Hamrick, 15, of Forest City, was walking in the parking lot at WalMart on Saturday, when she was struck on her right side by a 2004 GMC, driven by Connie Faye Morrow, 49, of  Forest City. Morrow said she was driving out of her parking space when the front right corner of her car hit the shopping cart being pushed by Hamrick and her mother, Shannon Grant.

Owens remains in neuro-trauma unit
FOREST CITY — Sherry Owens, 57, of Columbus, remains in the neuro-trauma intensive care unit at Mission Hospitals in Asheville, recovering from injuries they sustained in a head-on vehicle collision on Nov. 14.  Owens was traveling on the job with Folstaf Lab Partners and Kathy Loretti, 59, of Union Mills was traveling toward Rutherfordton, when the cars hit head-on on US 64 near Rutherfordton.

911 Calls
Rutherford County Sheriff's Dept. responded to 179 calls during the weekend; Forest City police had 97 calls; Rutherfordton police had 133; Spindale was dispatched to 64 police calls and Lake Lure had 14 calls; Rutherford County EMS responded to 60 calls and Rescue had 43 calls.

Fire Calls
Cliffside firefighters were dispatched to a chimney fire and a smoke report; Cherry Mountain, Forest City, Shingle Hollow and Spindale fire departments responded to vehicle accidents; Hudlow and Spindale also responded to smoke reports; Ellenboro firefighters responded to a brush fire and SDO was dispatched to an illegal burn during the weekend.

Arrests
Samuel Dayshaun Boyce, 22, Hedgeland Drive in Forest City, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver controlled substance; maintain a vehicle, dwelling place for controlled substance; possession drug paraphernalia, license not in possession and cancel revoked/suspend certificate tag; $30,000 bond.
Kenny Edward Buff, 27, Maryland Drive in Forest City, was charged with possession with intent to manufactures sell and deliver methamphetamine and possession drug paraphernalia; $5,000 bond.
Shannon Joy Grant, 44, Cherry Mountain Street in Forest City, was charged with resisting public officer; written promise to appear.
Eric Dewayne Greene, 24, Rock Road in Rutherfordton, charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine and possession drug parphernalia; $5,000 bond.
Ida Nicole Guffey,30, Old Caroleen Road in Forest City, charged with driving while license revoked, simple possession controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine and possession drug parphernalia; $31,000 bond.
Christopher Daniel Helms, 22, Price Street in Mt. Holly was charged with misdemeanor larceny; $2,000 bond.
Robert Daniel Helms, 51, Riddle Street in Mt. Holly was charged with misdemeanor larceny; $2,000 bond.
Jody Franklin Hoyle, 36, Forest Trail Drive in Rutherfordton, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine and possession drug parphernalia;$25,000 bond.
Jason William Hollifield, 34, Rolling Hill Circle in Rutherfordton, was charged with failure to appear on possesison marijuana, community service, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, injury to personal property; $5,500 bond.
David Poole Sny, 18, Evans Edwards Road in Ellenboro, was charged with consuming alcohol underage; $500 bond.
Taylor Dale Melton, 17, Beason Road in Mooresboro, was charged with failure to report accident and reckless driving to endanger; $5,000 bond.
Joseph Tyler Meushaw, 23, Chestnut, Cottage Grove, charged with resisting public officer; written promise to appear.
Michael Millard Overhulser, 46, Church Street in Bostic, was charged with  with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine and possession drug parphernalia;$25,000 bond.
Terry Lee Wall, 57, Rabbit Mofit Road in Chesnee, S.C., charged with failure to operate vehicle no insurnace; $200 bond.
Jonathan Tyler Weast, 16, Evan Edwards Road in Ellenboro, charged with consuming alcohol underage; $500 bond.
