Man injured in wreck
FOREST CITY — One person was injured and taken to Rutherford Regional Medical Center Wednesday afternoon as the result of a two vehicle collision on West Main Street at Withrow Road in Forest City.
Steve Henry Champion, Jr., 42, of Ellenboro was driving a 1996 Nissan  and his vehicle was hit in the rear by a 1997 Honda driven by Chelesa Pearl Sturgill,19, of Forest City. Sturgill told Forest City police she looked down at the radio and when she looked back up, it wsa too late and she hit the car in the rear.
Champion was taken to the hospital by Rutherford County EMS and Sturgill was charged with failure to reduce speed.

911 Calls
Rutherford County Sheriff's Dept. responded to 126 calls on Wednesday; Forest City police had 64 calls; Rutherfordton police had 39 calls; Spindale was dispatched to 48 police calls and Lake Lure had 11 calls; Rutherford County EMS responded to 35 calls and Rescue had 26 calls.

Fire Calls
Ellenboro firefighters were dispatched to a power line fire, Forest City Fire Dept. responded to a motor vehicle accident and Spindale firefighters were dispatched to an industrial fire alarm.

Arrests
Jackie Lee Dover, 40, Sims Street in Spindale was charged with harassing phone calls and communicating threats; $500 bond.
Linda Marie Greene, 47, Thompson Street in Forest City was charged with failure to appear on non-support of child; $3,928 cash bond.
Kimberly Dawn Heflin, 41, Coopers Gap Road in Mill Spring was charged with failure to appear on speeding and driving left of center; $500 bond.
Jennifer April Jenkins, Aqua Drive in Forest City was charged with attempted larceny, resisting public officer and possession drug paraphernalia; $5,000 bond.
Jeffrey Mark Shipman,47, South Broadway Street in Forest City, was charged with two counts breaking and or entering motor vehicle, breaking and entering misdemeanor and resisting public officer; $15,000 bond.
Teresa Michelle Tucker, 34, Old Henrietta Road in Forest City was charged with communicating threats; $500 bond.

Incidents
An officer of the Forest City Police Dept. reported a larceny, resist, obstruct and delay an officer.
Valerie Lynn Williams reported a larceny.
