One man injured; charged
FOREST CITY — George Edward Bell, 47, of Lake Lure was taken to Rutherford Regional Medical Center Saturday night after he crashed his 1996 Chevrolet truck down an embankment off Bill's Creek Road.
Bell was driving south on Bill's Creek Road when he failed to maintain lane control, ran off the road to the right, over corrected, crossed the center line, ran off the road to the left, rolled down an embankment and came to a final rest on the left side of the road.
He was charged with driving while impaired and failure to maintain lane control.
Teenager injured in hit and run
FOREST CITY — A 16-year-old teen was taken to Cleveland Regional Medical Center Friday at about 6:10 p.m. after he was struck by vehicle on Duncan's Creek Road.
Jonathan Lee Lail was riding a motorcycle and was hit by a vehicle that left the scene of the accident. He was taken to Cleveland Regional medical Center for treatment.
Rutherford County Sheriff's Dept. responded to 133 calls Monday; Forest City police had 72 calls; Rutherfordton police had 17 calls; Spindale was dispatched to 19 police calls and Lake Lure had eight calls; Rutherford County EMS responded to 46 calls and Rescue had 25 calls.
Cliffside firefighters were dispatched to a possible structure fire with SDO and Sandy Mush assisting; Forest City and Rutherfordton fire departments responded to an electrical fires; Hudlow and Spindale fire departments were dispatched to fire alarms; Shingle Hollow responded to a motor vehicle accident.
Charles Levern Cash, 48, of Spindale, was charged with second degree trespassing; written promise to appear.
Matthew Thomas Cooley, 25, Whistle Drive in Henrietta, was charged with cruelty to animals, larceny of motor vehicle and felony larceny. $30,000 bond.
Thomas Andrew Eazor, 43, Chalet Road in Lake Lure, two counts assault on a female; 48-hour hold.
Colin Paul Jones, 47, Atkins Avenue in Rock Hill, S.C., charged with five counts obtaining property by false pretense; $5,000 bond.
Gerry Charles Kirby, 45, Trailwood Drive in Forest City, was charged with two counts obtaining property by false pretense; felony larceny; written promise to appear.
Allyson Michelle Kirby, 18, Church Streetin Spindale, was charged with simple possession controlled substance and possession drug paraphernalia; written promise to appear.
Brian William Thomas Owens, 20, Lionel Street in Mooresboro, was charged with misdemeanor larceny; $1,000 bond.
Jeremy Shane Rowe,35, US 221, Rutherfordton, charged with possession drug paraphernalia; written promise to appear.
Elizabeth Taylor Schmitt, 52, Red Leaf Lane in Forest City, was charged with possession marijuana and possession drug paraphernalia; written promise to appear.
Charles Landis Yelton, 43, Carmel Lane in Rutherfordton, was charged with two counts assault and battery; communicating threats; $5,000 bond.
