Charged with having knife at school
FOREST CITY — Julia Ann Libertucci, 16, Old Wagy Road in Forest City, has been charged with a weapon on campus/educational property.
According to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Dept. Libertucci had a lock blade knife at R-S Central High School 10 days ago. She was arrested on Thursday.
Cpl. Randy Carothers, the school's resource officer, said the knife was concealed in the student's purse and didn't believe it was meant for any dangerous use.
Man tries to sell marijuana at day care
FOREST CITY — Terice Meshawn Watkins,24, of Mountain View Street in Forest City was arrested for possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana at a child care center, simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, notice of hearing for probation violation and order for arrest on child support. He received a $30,800 secured bond.
Woman fails to yield, hits another car
SPINDALE — Donna Michelle Lavender,52,of Ellenboro was driving a 2004 Chrysler west on U.S.74A Friday morning when she failed to yield and merged right and hit a 1995 Honda driven by Karry Nichole Hawkins,28,of Forest City. Hawkins lost control of her car and spun several times before coming to a rest. Lavender continued west and stopped in the median.
Lavender was taken to Rutherford Regional Medical Center by Rutherford County EMS for treatment of injuries.
She was charged by Spindale Police for unsafe movement.
911 Calls
Rutherford County Sheriff's Dept. responded to 150 calls on Thursday; Forest City police had 65 calls; Rutherfordton police had 37 calls; Spindale was dispatched to 18 police calls and Lake Lure had three calls; Rutherford County EMS responded to 40 calls and Rescue had 40  calls.
Fire Calls
Forest City, SDO firefighters responded to motor vehicles accident; Rutherfordton firefighters were dispatched to an alarm and Spindale Fire Dept. had a chimney fire with Rutherforton assisting.
Arrests
Angelo Markeith Boyce, 28, Dogwood Lane in Forest City was charged with possession drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked and following too closely; $4,000 bond.
Floyd Daniel Burns, 30, of Flaggler Street in Mooresboro was charged with cyberstalking, misdmeanor larceny; $1,000 bond.
Nancy Marie Googe, 30, Ledbetter Street in Spindale, was charged with failure to appar on driving while license revoked; $500 bond.
Daniel Calloway Harris, 56, Robert Riding Road in Shelby, failure to appear on driving while license revoked charged; $3,000 bond.
Jasean Christmas Kinard, 27, Ledbetter Road in Spindale was charged with two counts felony probation violation out of county; $50,000 bond.
Bobby Lee Lail,51, Beason Road in Gaffney,was charged with no operator's license, no seat belt; $2,500 bond.
Douglas Emanuel Montgomery, 32, Mill Road in Rutherfordton, was charged with assault on female; $20,000 bond.
Joey Lee Wellborn, 39, Whitesides Road in Rutherfordton was charged with two counts breaking and entering, felony; two counts larceny after breaking and entering; $20,000 bond.
Incidents
An employee from Outpost Sports and Pawn reported an incident of obtaining property by false pretense.
An employee from Food Lion in Forest City reported an incident of larceny.
Eddie McKinney of Forest City reported an incident of breaking and entering and larceny that occurred on Dogwood Ln. in Forest City.
Jessica Greene of Forest City reported an incident of breaking and entering into motor vehicle and larceny that occurred on South Broadway Street.
An officer from the Forest City Police Department reported an incident of damage to property that occurred on Groce Street.
Tonya Denielle Gaskins reported an identity theft.
Choice Care Play School, LLC reported to Rutherfordton Police Department that Ben Kennedy came to the day care center on Thursday stating he was a fireman and wanted to do a head count of the children since there was a tornado in Polk County. His child goes to the center but is in the care of his mother, police reported.
