Woman sustains injuries in two-vehicle wreck
BOSTIC — One woman sustained injures in a two-vehicle accident at 3:50 p.m.Tuesday.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Pearl Barnette of Union Mills, was driving a 2009 Ford west on Andrew Mills Road and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Bostic Sunshine Highway. She struck the 2005 Madza driven by Steven Michael Gelband of Roebuck, S.C. that was traveling south on Bostic-Sunshine Highway. Barnette was charged with failure to yield. She also sustained injuries.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol and Bostic Fire Department responded to the accident.
Rutherford County Sheriff's Dept. responded to 165 calls on Tuesday; Forest City police had 72 calls; Rutherfordton police had 32 calls; Spindale was dispatched to 28 police calls and Lake Lure had 12 calls; Rutherford County EMS responded to 42 calls and Rescue had 33 calls.
Bostic firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday; Forest City reponded to a smoke reort; Lake Lure and SDO firefighters were dispatched to industrial fire alarm; Lake Lure also had a smoke report call.
Megan Leann Acey, 24, Iverson Road in Ellenboro, charged with assault and battery; $500 bond.
Rebecca Sue Bailey, 39, South Pearidge in Mooresboro was charged with misdemeanor larceny and second degree trespass; $1,000 bond.
Melissa Jean Bergmann, 27, Hill Road in Spartanburg was charged with obtaining controlled substance by fraud/forgery and obtaining controlled substance by fraud; $1,500 bond.
Steven Bryan Cavender, 25, Flat Broke Lane in Union Mills, was charged with larceny of motor fuel; two counts driving while license revoked, possession drug parahernalia; $4,000 bond.
Florence Phillip Guarisma, 35, Leon Road in Ellenboro, was charged with consume malt beverage off premises permit; solicit alms/beg money and resisting public officer; $500 bond.
Devonte Hakeem Duffy, 23, Alburn Lane in Bostic was charged with resisting public officer; $1,000 bond.
David Kenneth Fowler, 22, Black Oak Drive in Rutherfordton, was charged with two counts breaking, entering motor vehicle; two counts misdemeanor larceny; $10,000 bond.
Vincent Irie Hamrick, 54, North Hillside Street in Rutherfordton, was charged with misdemeanor larceny; cash bond.
Lisa Estell Lawter, 46, Rock Road in Rutherfordton was charged with misdemeanor larceny; $1,000.
Myra Lynn Ledford, 52, Poors Ford Road in Rutherfordton, resisting public officer; $500 bond.
Michael Ray Moore, 31, Frady Street in Rutherfordton, charged with felony probation violation; $20,000 bond.
Michael Rodriguez, 24, Bridges Farm Road in Forest City, charged with interfere with utility meter; $500 bond.
Sandra Ray Williams, 39, Thompson Road in Rutherfordton was charged with assault and battery and communicating threats; $500 unsecured bond.
Gloria Sanchez of Forest City reported an incident of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Maxine Blanton reported a breaking, entering into a motor vehicle and larceny.
Ernest Pack reported a larceny from the Carolina House.
Joe Davis of Chesnee reported a larceny and trespassing.
Alton Burns of Mooresboro reported a breaking and entering.
Chassidy Roper of Bostic reported receiving counterfeit money.
