Linder injured in collision Monday
RUTHERFORDTON — Kay Linder, 62, of Rutherfordton was driving a 2000 Ford Monday morning on US 221 near Poors Ford Road, and was attempting to turn into a private driveway off US 221, when she hit another vehicle traveling north.
According to North Carolina Highway Patrol, Linder was traveling south and turned into the path of Tyler Chatham,21, of Rutherfordton, driving north in a  1995 Nissan.
Trooper J.A. Spence said Linder was taken to Rutherford Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
She was also charged with failure to yield.
 
Postal carrier injured
FOREST CITY — A United States Postal Service employee, Harreitt Hamrick of Mooresboro, was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center early Monday for treatment of airbag deployment after her Jeep Cherokee hit a ditch off US 221A.
North Carolina Highway Patrol J.N. Horton said Hamrick reported to her family, a vehicle started to pull onto US 221 from State Line Road and she pulled her steering wheel to the right, to avoid collision with the other car, and the jeep hit a ditch.
 
Teen injured in Sunday wreck 
FOREST CITY — A teenager was taken to Rutherford Regional Medical Center after a two vehicle collision on US64/74 on Sunday.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol said Michael Keith Splawn, 53, of Rutherfordton, was driving a 1989 Ford truck when he failed to reduce speed and struck a 2001 Honda driven by Wendy Kay Reid of Mocksville. Both vehicles were traveling south.
Reid's passenger, Kaylynn Reid, 16, of Mocksville  was transported to Rutherford Regional Medical Center by Rutherford County EMS.
Splawn was charged with failure to reduce speed. 
 
Driver injured Saturday
RUTHERFORDTON — The driver of a 2002 Subaru was transported to the hospital Saturday morning as the result of a one vehicle accident on W. Mountain Street in Rutherfordton.
Wanda Ruth Bennett,58, of Sherry Street told police she looked to her right and lost focus of the road and collided with a Duke Energy utility pole.
She was taken to the hospital by Rutherford County EMS.
Rutherfordton police charged her with failure to maintian lane control.

Rutherford County Sheriff's Dept. responded to 191 calls during the weekend; Forest City police had 75 calls; Rutherfordton police had 108 calls; Spindale was dispatched to 56 police calls and Lake Lure had 14 calls; Rutherford County EMS responded to 58 calls and Rescue had 52 calls.
 
Fire Calls
Lake Lure, Rutherfordton and Sandy Mush were dispatched to motor vehicle accidents during the weekend;Rutherfordton had a residential fire alarm call and Spindale responded to a gas leak.

Christopher Millhouse Fisher, 18, N. Washington Street in Rutherfordton, charged consume alcohol under age; $1,000 unsecured.
Sylvester Molina Herrera, 22, Irish Shield Lane in Landrum, charged with driving while impaired and driving left of center; $1,000 bond.
David Ryan Holland, 17, Rollins Road in Forest City, charged with consume alcohol underage; $1,000 unsecured bond.
Ashley Nicole Hudson, 21, Gantts Grove Church Road in Mooresboro, charged with hit/run leaving scene of accident, property damage; expired registration card/tag; resisting public officer; $1,500 bond.
