Driving too fast for conditions
FOREST CITY — Guillermo Mendoza, 18, was treated for injuries Sunday morning after a single vehicle accident on Old Caroleen Road in Forest City.
Mendoza was driving a 2001 Saturn when the vehicle crossed the center line and ran off the road to the left.
The vehicle struck a tree and came to rest on the left shoulder of the road.
Mendoza was transported by Rutherford County EMS to Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
According to police, Mendoza was traveling at a high speed inappropriate for the condition of the weather.
Mendoza was charged with driving too fast for conditions.

Bostic firefighters were dispatched to a dumpster fire; Cliffside Fire Department responded to a brush fire and a chimney fire; Ellenboro firefighters were dispatched to a brush fire and a house/structure fire; Forest City Fire Department responded to an industrial fire alarm; Hudlow firefighters responded to a smoke report; Rutherfordton Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident and a residential fire alarm; SDO firefighters were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident and a grass fire; Shingle Hollow firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident.

Arrests
Justin Kyle Coggins, 26, Starlite Lane in Rutherfordton, was charged with driving while license revoked and using a foreign license; $5,000 bond.
Randy Dale Greene, 27, Campbell Street in Spindale, was charged with failure to appear on speeding, failure to appear on driving while license revoked, failure to appear on expired registration card/tag, and failure to appear on expired/no inspection; $3,000 bond.
Brandy Nicole Jones, 33, Walker Dairy Road in Bostic, was charged with misdemeanor probation violation; $10,000 bond.
Tavon Alan Murray, 24, Harmon Street in Forest City, was charged with driving while impaired and having no operator's license; $2,000 unsecured bond.
Fernando Fidel Reyes, 31, Railroad Avenue in Rutherfordton, was charged with assault on a female, injury to personal property, and possession/manufacture of fraudulent identification; $500 bond.
Holli Elizabeth Rogers, 28, Powell Road in Forest City, was charged with driving while impaired and driving while license revoked; $5,000 bond.
Lloyd Douglas Lee, 32, Old U.S. 74 Highway in Bostic, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, littering, and aiding and abetting driving while license revoked; $3,000 bond.
Cheyenne Nicole Miller, 20, Maple Street in Jacksonville, was charged with assault and battery; $1,000 unsecured bond.
Kenneth Ray Owenby, 28, Twelve Oaks Drive in Forest City, was charged with carrying a concealed gun, driving while license revoked, having a canceled/revoked/suspicious certification or tag, fleeing and eluding arrest with a motor vehicle, and failure to appear on having no operator's license; $7,600 bond.
Daniel Ryan Pitman, 20, Wyoming Street in Spindale, was charged with injury to real property; written promise to appear.
Samantha Kelly Stamper, 34, Old Ballpark Road in Forest City, was charged with failure to appear on second degree trespassing; $500 bond.
Shermaine Marie Surratt, 44, Newline Road in Mooresboro, was charged with felony worthless check; written promise to appear.
Alexis Queen Warner, 19, Maple Street in Jacksonville, was charged with assault and battery; $1,000 bond.
Jeanne Lynn Wray, 40, Goode Road in Mooresboro, was charged with simple possession of a controlled substance; $500 bond.
