Alley sustained injures
FOREST CITY — Karen Lynn Alley of Forest City was taken to Rutherford Regional Medical Center on Wednesday as a result of injuries she sustained in a two vehicle crash on US74A at Daniel Road. Alley was driving a 2001 Ford and Storm Sarahann Carmona of Rutherfordton was driving a 20101 Hyundai. According to Forest City police, Carmona was traveling west and failed to stop at the stop sign and hit the Ford that was traveling north across the intersection to Daniel Road. Carmona was charged with stop sign violation. Also assisting were Rutherford County EMS.
Patel injured in two car crash
FOREST CITY — Divyaben Daxeshkuma Patel was injured in a motor vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on Oak Street Extension in Forest City. She was driving a 2011 Nissan and pulled into the path of a 1997 Oldsmobile driven by Lee Irvin Smith of Ellenboro. Smith said he tried to stop and steer away from the Nissan but was unable to and the vehicles collided. Patel was taken to Rutherford Regional Medical Center by Rutherford County EMS. Smith nor his passenger were injured.
Rutherford County Sheriff's Dept. responded to 143 calls Wednesday; Forest City police had 101 calls; Rutherfordton police had 30 calls; Spindale was dispatched to 30 police calls and Lake Lure had three calls; Rutherford County EMS responded to 61 calls and Rescue had 33 calls.
Forest City and Hudlow firefighters were dispatched to motor vehicle accidents on Tuesday; Forest City also responded to a vehicle fire.

Jesse Dean Hutchins, 31, Bagpipe Drive in Bostic, charged with three counts simple possession controlled substance; two counts possession drug paraphernalia; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver controlled substance; $10,000 bond.
Brian Christopher Johnson,45, Roundtop Road in Asheville, charged with speeding; $500 bond.
Michael Dean Knox, 55, Old Henrietta Road in Henrietta; assault on female; secured bond.
