Mastectomy Fittings: Fittings provided by Smith's Drugs of Forest City, at Rutherford Regional's Cancer Resource Center; call 828-245-4596 for an appointment.

Motorist Awareness Program: Presented at the Rutherford County Senior Center, 193 Callahan-Koon Road in Spindale at 10:30 a.m.; speaker Sue Huffman, NC District Educator from the Gold Wing Road Riders, will educate citizens on motorcycle safety and awareness.

Poor Man's Supper: Hosted by American Legion Post 423, Boss More Road in Caroleen; supper begins at 5 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m.; plates with all the fixings are $6 for adults, $3 for children 6-12 and free for children under 6; take out is available.

Brian Free & Assurance in Concert: Concert begins at 7 p.m. at R-S Central High School; also features music by Southern Sounds Quartet; for season ticket holders this is a free concert, others can purchase tickets at the door for $12; come early for a spaghetti supper sponsored by Rutherford Housing Partnership; doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Friday, March 14

Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Dance Project: Presentation of Winter Dance concert, "Don Quixote" at 5:30 p.m. in Leitner Auditorium; excerpts of the ballet will be presented; admission is free and donations are welcome.

Music at the Mills: Bluegrass show with "His Fold" from Marion, N.C.; beginning at 7 p.m. at the Union Mills Learning Center, 6495 Hudlow Road; free admission; lasagna supper for $5 per person; doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner starts at 6 p.m.; all proceeds go to the Union Mills Learning Center; for more information call 748-7956.

Southern Wrestling Association Event: 14th Annual Bud Rhymer Cup at the Forest City National Guard Armory; today and tomorrow, doors open at 7 p.m. and show starts at 8 p.m.; featuring 16 of the biggest tag teams in the nation; admission is $6 for one night or $10 for both nights; bring a canned food item to support Grace of God food drive and to be entered into a raffle.

Saturday, March 15

Pruett Walden Memorial Pancake Breakfast: Hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Forest City at Family Life Center at First United Methodist Church, 341 East Main Street in Forest City; breakfast begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m.; tickets $5 for adults and $4 for children under 12; cash donations gladly accepted and all proceeds to benefit local children's charities.

$5 Jewelry & Accessories Sale: Jewelry, purses, shawls, children's and men's gifts all $5 each; 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. in the Norris-Biggs Conference Room at Rutherford Regional Medical Center; presented by the Rutherford Regional Auxiliary; proceeds presented to RRHS for patient care services.

5th Annual TJCA Community Renaissance Festival: Activities begin at 10 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. at TJCA, 2527 Hwy. 221A in Mooresboro; free admission and open to the general public; fun, food, crafts, music and entertainment; tickets sold for use at activity booths; main events include a sheep herding demonstration, archery tournament and human chess matches.

Rutherford County NAACP Branch: Fish fry and hot dog sale at Hardin Road Park in Forest City; event is 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and tickets are $7; desserts are $1-$2; event sponsored by Freedom Fund Committee; contact Ruby Mills at 286-3469 for more information.

Covered Dish Potluck: Quarterly meeting of the Piedmont-Pleasant Hill Community Club at 6 p.m.; 1761 Maple Creek Road in Rutherfordton; covered dish supper and business meeting; all are welcome.
