Fish Fry: Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church at 3 p.m.; flounder filet or catfish filet with fries, slaw, hushpuppies, tea, dessert for $8 per plate. Take outs available by calling 657-9446. Proceeds to send Pastor Robert and Elaine Harris on mission trip to Holy Land. The church is located at 1938 Hwy. 221-A in the Caroleen community.

Community Health Day: First Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 559 S. Church St, Forest City; Sabbath School 9 a.m.; divine worship 11 a.m.; diabetes workshop 2 p.m.; vegetarian dinner will be served.

Memorial Day and Homecoming at Piedmont Baptist Church; Sunday School at 9:45 and worship at 10:50 followed  by a catered meal in the church fellowship building; friends and former members are invited; church located at 1050 Maple Creek Road, Rutherfordton.
Memorial Day at Bills Creek Baptist Church at 9:45 a.m. with special music provided by the Southern Gospel group, The Phillips Family from Gaffney. Morning worship to follow at 11. Chris Wells of Wellspoken ministries will be preaching at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Chris is the Chaplain for the Bassmasters Tour and is a popular speaker at Sportsmen and Wild Game Banquets across the Southeast.
Annual Women's Day Program: St. Luke CME Church at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.; speaker for 11 a.m. service will be Rev. LaShae Young Bagwell from Bunton CME Church in Spartanburg; music provided by the St. Luke's Women's Day Choir; 3 p.m. speaker will be Rev. Hattie Dewberry, pastor of FCH church in Hendersonville with music provided by her church choir. A repast will follow.

Community Empowerment Awareness Event from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Forest City Housing Authority, 147 East Spruce St., Forest City; entire event is free. Guests: City and County Elected Officials, Spiritual Leaders, High School Athletic Directors, Community College Educators & Financial Aid Counselors & GED, High School Diploma Advisor's, Employment Security Commission, Youth Empowerment & Youth Mentors, Health Wellness, Domestic Violence Advocates, Substance Abuse Counselors, Ray Rice Martial Arts & more; music, dance, songs, face painting; free food, free boxes of household products (300 first come first served).
