Communicating and Hearing Assistance Mentoring Program (CHAMP): Learn about how to volunteer and support seniors with hearing loss; speaker Cynthia Harmon will share details about the program at 9:30 a.m. at the Rutherford County Senior Center, 193 Callahan Koon Road in Spindale.

Chase Corner Ministries Mobile Food Pantry: Co-sponsored giveaway at Mountain Creek Baptist Church, 710 Mountain Creek Road in Rutherfordton; giveaway begins around 10 a.m.

International Dancing: Special performance as Maribelle Sarate brings her students to the Rutherford County Senior Center to demonstrate international dances; 10:30 a.m. at the center, 193 Callahan Koon Road in Spindale.

Special Joint Meeting: The Rutherford County Board of Commissioners and Town Councils of Forest City, Lake Lure, Rutherfordton and Spindale will participate in a joint meeting at 6 p.m. at The Foundation at Isothermal Community College; elected officials will receive a presentation on the Joint Sewer Systems Study and follow with a discussion; the public is invited to attend.

17th Annual Kids & Cops: Event will be held from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Charles R. Summey II Park (formerly the Forest City-Dunbar Park); event geared toward kids ages 12 and under and families are welcome; opportunity to learn about different departments that protect and serve neighborhoods and communities; pizza, drinks and multiple activities to participate in.
