Rutherford Regional Health System will hold a blood drive May 29th at the medical center, and participating donors will receive not only lunch but their choice of a $5 coupon to the upcoming Jewelry Sale or $5 off in the Break Away Café.

The Anchor Club is hosting their 3rd Annual Talent Show fundraiser for St. Jude's Children Hospital at East Rutherford High School gym at 6:30 p.m. Michael Jackson dance enthusiast and tribute artist, "MJ" Milam, will perform. Admission is $2. Hotdogs and baked goods will be available.

Color Fun Friday at KidSenses: Identify primary colors and create secondary colors using magic color wells in Creation Station. Fun begins at 5:30 and will last until 8:00 pm.


Saturday, June 1

Rainbow Milk Art Extravaganza at KidSenses: use milk and several other colorful ingredients to create a beautiful work of art! The colorful milky adventure begins at 1:00 and ends at 4:00.


2nd Annual Mad Mountain Mud Run: in Hendersonville; only event of its kind with an all-day music, food & local beer festival. Community Empowerment Awareness Event: at Forest City Housing Authority, 147 East Spruce St., Forest City, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Event is free. Guests include City and County Elected Officials, Spiritual Leaders, High School Athletic Directors, Community College Educators & Financial Aid Counselors & GED, High School Diploma Advisor's, Employment Security Commission, Youth Empowerment & Youth Mentors, Health Wellness, Domestic Violence Advocates, Substance Abuse Counselors, Ray Rice Martial Arts & more. Activites include music, dance, songs, face painting & more. Free food and 300 free boxes of household products/paper towels, toilet tissue, personal hygiene, etc. These boxes will be given out on a first come first serve basis. Rutherford County Honor Guard needs honorably or medically discharged veterans (male or female) to participate in the guard. This units provides honorably discharged veterans with a full military honors burial at no charge. Rutherford Electric Membership Corporation is having a book sale in the lobby of their office at 186 Hudlow Road in Forest City. Proceeds will benefit the ACS Relay for Life.
