Alternative Treatments Program: Discussion led by Stephanie Ingle, MSW, LCSW, Behavioral Health Coordinator and Suzanne Porter, Community Engagement Team Coordinator at 10:30 a.m. at the Rutherford County Senior Center; speakers will discuss alternative treatments and providers for various ailments.

Alternative Treatments Demonstrations: Follow-up to Thursday's program includes acupuncture, yoga, massage therapy, chiropractic and behavioral therapy demos; 9-11 a.m. at the Rutherford County Senior Center.

Operation Medicine Drop: Bring unused and/or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications for proper and safe disposal between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the Rutherford County Senior Center.

Yarn Lovers Open Studio: Fridays from 10 a.m. until noon at the Rutherford County Visual Arts Center, 160 North Main Street in Rutherfordton; free for guild members and $5 per session for non-members; for more information call 828-288-5009.

Chicken Pie Supper: Beginning at 6 p.m. at the Union Mills Learning Center, 6495 Hudlow Road in Union Mills; plates are $5 per person and includes dessert and drink; proceeds go toward educational programs and building renovations.
