Kristy Kreme has announced a deal to open four locations in Anchorage and the nearby Matanuska-Susitna Borough over the next three years.

KTUU reports the company announced Tuesday it has signed an agreement with North to Alaska LLC for the shops.

North to Alaska currently operates five Anchorage restaurants, including the Sourdough Mining Co., the Peanut Farm Sports Grill, McGinley's Irish Pub and two Firetap Alehouse locations.

According to the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based company, Krispy Kreme has 240 shops in the U.S. and more than additional 540 locations in 22 countries.

Krispy Kreme joins several other national retailers in announcing Alaska locations. Hard Rock Cafe has announced a downtown Anchorage restaurant, and Texas Roadhouse will open Feb. 10 at Tikhatnu Commons shopping center in East Anchorage.
