...HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE WESTERN CAROLINAS AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA
THROUGH TONIGHT...

.LOW PRESSURE DEVELOPING ALONG THE NORTHERN GULF OF MEXICO WILL
MOVE NORTHEAST ACROSS THE CENTRAL CAROLINAS TONIGHT. THE DEEPENING
LOW WILL PULL MOISTURE FROM BOTH THE ATLANTIC AND GULF...RESULTING
IN HEAVY RAIN ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION. UPSLOPE FLOW INTO THE
MOUNTAINS WILL INCREASE RAINFALL AMOUNTS OVER AND NEAR THE HIGH
TERRAIN. IN THESE AREAS 3 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN IS EXPECTED WITH A
FEW AREAS POSSIBLY SEEING MORE. THE MAIN FLOOD THREAT WILL BE
ALONG MAIN STEM RIVERS. HOWEVER...RAINFALL RATES MAY BECOME HEAVY
ENOUGH LATER TODAY TO CAUSE SOME STREAMS TO LEAVE THEIR BANKS. IN
ADDITION...URBAN AREAS COULD EXPERIENCE DEEP PONDING OF WATER AS
STORM DRAINS AND CULVERTS MAY BE LIMITED BY THICK LEAF LITTER.

  TODAY AND TONIGHT. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES WILL BE
  POSSIBLE ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS BE THE TIME THE
  RAIN ENDS LATE TONIGHT.

* MAIN STEM RIVERS MAY EXPERIENCE FLOODING BY LATE TONIGHT OR
  SATURDAY MORNING. A FEW AREAS MAY ALSO SEE AREAL FLOODING AS
  SOME STREAMS GO INTO FLOOD. IN ADDITION...URBAN AREAS COULD
  EXPERIENCE DEEP PONDING OF WATER AS STORM DRAINS AND CULVERTS
  MAY BE LIMITED BY THICK LEAF LITTER.
