The Polk County Sheriff's Department is looking for a teenager that has been missing since Dec. 19, 2012.

According to a report, Jessica Tene Newton went missing from her home on that date. Her home is located in a housing development off of Coxe Road near the Polk and Rutherford county line at Union Road.

Law enforcement officials said she went missing between 3:30 and 7:15 a.m.

Polk County Sheriff Detective Randall R. Hodge said that law enforcement does not have any reason to believe that fowl play is involved in the disappearance, but that they are concerned that Newton has not been seen or heard from.

According to the report, Newton is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes and has a scar on her right cheek and forehead.

In addition, she also suffers from asthma.

If anyone has seen or knows the whereabouts of Newton, they are asked to contact Hodge at 828-894-0188
